ricky hendrick plane crash:Last night on ABC’s premiere of the Bachelor, Emily Maynard was one of thirty women trying to capture this season’s Bachelor’s heart. Emily has a very endearing story behind her.
Her previous fiance’ Joseph Riddick “Ricky” Hendrick IV died tragically 6 years prior in a plane crash while on his way to a race that he would be driving in.
Hendrick was only 24 years of age but was a famous Nascar driver when his plane went down in 2004. Emily would’ve been on the flight but she wasn’t feeling well so Ricky told her to go ahead and stay home.
She said at first she felt as if she should’ve been on the plane as well because she didn’t want to live without him. Well the Friday after they buried him she found out why she wasn’t meant to be on the plane.
She was pregnant with Ricky’s daughter, who she later named Ricky after her father.
